David Milofsky

David Milofsky is a writer of fiction and non-fiction. He has published six novels and a collection of short stories. He also works as a journalist and his work has appeared in the Milwaukee Journal, The Chicago Tribune, the Berkshire Eagle, the Boston Herald, the Denver Post, the New YorkTimes and the New York Times magazine.He has been honored with fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Breadloaf, the MacDowell Colony and the New Writers Conference. He has twice been nominated for The Pushcart Prize and won the Prairie Schooner Short Fiction Award. He has edited two well-known literary magazines, Denver Quarterly and Colorado Review, both of which were granted NEA awards during his editorship. He also created the Colorado Prize in Poetry and served as series editor for five years. During a long teaching career, he directed writing programs at the University of Denver and Colorado State University, where he is Emeritus Professor of English. He lives in Colorado with his wife Jean, a psychiatrist and jazz pianist. They are the parents of three grown children and five grandchildren.
